counterpoint studio
An advisory practice for organizations and individuals navigating complexity, uncertainty, and change
counterpoint studio partners with creative leaders, mission-driven organizations, and values-aligned teams navigating complexity, uncertainty, and change. Together, we create the conditions for clearer thinking, stronger relationships, and more human ways of working.
My work draws on fifteen years of experience in nonprofit organizations alongside artistic practice, systems thinking, and embodiment. Rather than applying one-size-fits-all frameworks, I work to understand what is already present, explore what wants to emerge, and create the conditions for meaningful change.
Each engagement is shaped by the needs of the people and organization involved. Current offerings include:
fractional leadership
For organizations needing thoughtful, experienced leadership without a full-time hire.
I partner with organizations in interim, fractional, or retained roles, bringing strategic perspective together with hands-on leadership in the areas of fundraising, external relations and operations. Whether supporting executive teams, strengthening organizational systems, or stewarding complex projects, I become part of the organization while helping build the conditions for long-term resilience and success.
consulting
For organizations facing complex challenges and exploring the unknown.
I work with leaders and teams facing moments of transition, organizational challenges, or questions that don't have obvious answers. My approach is collaborative, inquiry-driven, and rooted in lived experience. Together we make sense of complexity and identify pathways that are authentic to your organization's people and purpose.
creative coaching
For artists, founders, and creative leaders exploring what becomes possible when they stop adapting to conventional leadership models and begin leading from their own perspective.
Through one-on-one coaching, I help clients explore their own creative practice — whether artistic, entrepreneurial, or personal — as a source of leadership, clarity, and discernment. Rather than borrowing someone else's model, we learn to trust the inherent intelligence in how you observe, create, and make meaning.
curious? let’s begin with a conversation.
Every engagement is different. If you're navigating complexity, imagining something new, or simply curious whether we might work well together, I'd love to connect.

why counterpoint?
Counterpoint is a compositional practice in Western classical music in which multiple independent voices unfold simultaneously. Each voice retains its own integrity and independence, yet gains meaning through its relationship with others, resulting in a dynamic and harmonious whole created through difference.
Too often, our institutions and systems ask people to flatten themselves in service of alignment or efficiency. Agreement is mistaken for cohesion and uniformity for health. But the systems that endure - whether musical, ecological, or organizational - rarely thrive because every part becomes the same. Instead, they flourish when conditions are created for distinct voices to listen, respond, adapt, and create something together that no single voice could produce alone.
Counterpoint offers both a metaphor and a practice, inviting questions about leadership, change and organizational life. What conditions allow independent voices to flourish within systems? How do we cultivate cultures that strengthen rather than diminish individuality? What becomes possible when we treat complexity not as a problem to be solved, but as the very source from which coherence emerges?
This is the lens that guides my practice – asking artistic questions of our organizations and systems, so that we might imagine more authentic and more human futures.
